In the housing market, I'm sure you've heard of "
It's a buyers market," or it's a sellers market. Well in the Home Audio world right now...we are saying "It's a buyers market" right now. You've all seen it, and many have already jumped on the band wagon.
Flat Panel TV's (all of them...Plasma, LCD, LED, OLED) all have finally come down to a much more reasonable price. Why is that, you ask? Simply...because all the R&D is now basically out of the way. Additionally, shipping costs are much better than years past. Imagine how many more flat panel HDTV's fit into a cargo container on a boat opposed to those old clunky "prehistoric" tube TV's....a whole lot more! All these savings are and now have been passed on to you the consumer. As proof of this, a 60" Plasma Flat Panel TV years ago cost around $10,000-$12,000...and now present day, in the year 2014, on could be had for around $1,500.

Additionally, technology has leveled off. The line has become somewhat blurred between the high-
end components and the lower-end components. Example: HDTV's...for many, it is really, really tough to tell the difference in picture quality between brand X and brand Z (at twice the price).
Another great example of the AV buyers market concept, is the bluray player. Bluray players when they first hit the market were a minimum of $500, no if ans buts about it. You wanted blu-ray...the cost of entry was $500...and that was a "No frills" unit, at that. Now again present day, the year 2014, you can buy a Bluray player (via numerous manufacturers), for a mere $100-$150 . And that is with all the bells and whistles, to include 3D, Internet based "Widgets" (which allow you web based connect applications...such as Pandora, Rhapsody, Netflix, YouTube, Etc...). And remember this very Blur-ray play is capable of playing conventional DVD, CD, and MP3's.
That my friends is progress, where-as your the winner.
Making for a great opportunity to capitalize!
With that said, there is still plenty of room to utilize the

GUIDELINES EXIST
How many times have you seen people cramming a "Monster" flat panel TV into their undersized car at the "Big Box retail stores?" Lots, and lots...I'm sure.
Unfortunately, as professionals we see this far to too often as well.
What we also see is these "Monster" TV's applied in all the wrong places. Many a times, in rooms that are simply just to small based on the seating. You would think that perhaps it's not a big deal, but it really is.
Eye and body fatigue can be the result. I know now, your thinking I sound like a gym instructor and/or doctor...but the fatigue conditions sneakily happen in these scenarios, among other things.
Seating distance, scale, size of speakers, placement of speakers, room light levels and colors, equipment settings, tweaking, and then super tweaking
(yes...we "super tweak), among many other things...all are important factors that come into play when creating "
the best and most comfortable" user experience possible.
